Jessie DeVries, age 94 of Randolph passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor of Randolph.
Jessie was born on November 11, 1921 in the Township of Fox Lake, daughter of John and Susie (DeYoung) Syens. She was a graduate of Pinewood a country school. On December 30, 1941 she was united in marriage to Harry DeVries at the First Reformed Church in Randolph where she has been a lifelong member. She lived her entire life in and around Randolph. Jessie was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, knitting and crocheting and was also a member of the Quilters at her church and did a lot of hand quilting.
Jessie is survived by her son Frank DeVries of Elkhorn and daughter Sue DeVries of Randolph; sister Evelyn (John)Hoffman of Randolph, sister-in-law Sadie DeVries of Waupun, sister-in-law Evelyn (Stan) Hoekstra of Houston, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; numerous cousins nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1984, son Jerry (Nancy) DeVries, daughter-in-law Alice DeVries, son-in-law Ted DeVries, granddaughter Carmen, brother Peter (Elsie) Syens, father and mother-in-law Frank (Anna) DeVries; also several brother and sisters-in-law. She will be sadly missed by her family.
A celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at 11 A.M on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 with visitation to be held at 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service at First Reformed Church of Randolph, 406 South High Street, Randolph, WI, with Rev. Tim Ehrhardt officiating. Burial to follow at Randolph Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Jessie’s name.
