Lawrence "Larry" Robert Klosterman

Lawrence Robert Klosterman, age 73 of Waupun, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at his home after a 7 year battle with cancer.

Larry was born on June 1, 1942 in Rosendale, WI, a son of Robert and Dorothy (Bahr) Klosterman. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1961. On August 15, 1964 he was united in marriage to Donna Daane in Ripon, WI. Larry served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and was stationed in Africa during the Cuban Crisis. After the service in 1965, he worked at various construction jobs for 30 years and was employed in building maintenance at Alto Dairy (now Saputo). Larry was a member of the VFW Post 6709 Bentley Hall. He was also a member of Pella Lutheran Church for 40 years as well as an Elder and a part of the finance committee. Larry was very active in the American Cancer Relay for Life. He enjoyed camping with his wife and fishing with his children and grandchildren for many years. He was an exceptional father and grandfather.

Larry is survived by his wife, Donna; 2 children, Dustin Klosterman of Wausau and Lori Klosterman of Waupun; 2 grandchildren, Aidan Klosterman and Gabrielle (Brittany) Klosterman; his mother-in-law, Doris Daane; a brother, David (Joan Guell) Klosterman of Oakfield; a sister, Susan (Greg) Miller of Unity; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Klosterman; his father-in-law, Donald Daane.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 South Madison Street, Waupun, with Rev. Ken Loehrke officiating. Burial to follow at Brandon cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 4-7 P.M. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun and at church on Tuesday, October 20th from 10 A.M. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund has been directed to Pella Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society and the VFW.
