Winifred "Winnie" Jean Jahnke

Winifred Jean Jahnke, age 91 of Markesan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Markesan Resident Home.

Winnie was born on February 10, 1924 in Athens, GA, the daughter of William and Daisey (Suber) Doggett. On January 20, 1944 she was united in marriage to Guenther "Jake" Jahnke in Columbia, South Carolina. Winnie was a member of Dalton Bible Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and puppy visits. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.

Winnie is survived by 4 children, David Jahnke of Markesan and his special friend, Donna King of West Bend, Winifred Jahnke of New Mexico, Tim Jahnke of Markesan and Andy (Deb) Jahnke of Markesan; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her childhood friend, Joan Legato of Athens, GA; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1997; a son, Nathan Jahnke and a great grandson.

A celebration of Granny's life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan, with Pastor George Noll officiating. Burial to follow at Country Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Markesan Community Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service.

A memorial fund has been directed to Dalton Bible Church.
