Mary Lee Wisnewski, age 87 of Waupun, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Christian Home in Waupun.
Mary was born on January 19, 1928 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Clarence “Bud” and Hatti (Bubeck) Rogers. Mary resided in Chicago with her family until she moved to Fox Lake in 1979. On September 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to Matthew Wisnewski in Chicago. She worked at various jobs in the Chicago area including Continental Can, Mayflower Foods and Basket Burger. In Fox Lake, she particularly enjoyed working at Miller’s Resort in the Bait Shop telling fishermen how to catch muskies and loved working with her sister, Betty, at Roger’s Store.
She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Susan Schwartz of Beaver Dam, Kathy (Bob) Freiboth of Hartland, and Debra Shivley of Fox Lake; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; her goddaughter, Deanna Reff; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Betty Reff-Smits and Joan Marth; and son-in-law Daniel Shivley.
A memorial service for Mary will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Christian Home, 331 Bly Street, Waupun, with Rev. Nina Zick officiating and grandson A. J. Schwartz giving a eulogy. Relatives and friends may call at the chapel of the Christian Home from 12 P.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to the Christian home of Waupun.
