Irma Mae Bernhagen, age 97 of Markesan, went to her heavenly home on May 12, 2015 at the Barrett House of Markesan.
Irma was born in the Township of Kingston on August 22, 1917 a daughter of Ernest and Elsie (Bahr) Wuerch. She was united in marriage to William Bernhagen Jr. in Markesan on November 12, 1939. Irma was employed with Riverdale Manor for 18 years now known as Markesan Resident Home. She enjoyed reading and maintaining her garden. Irma's favorite past times were reading, cooking, crocheting and making afghans for her family. Irma was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Manchester.
Irma is survived by her daughters Janice (Kevin) Guderski and Marlene Seymer both of Manchester; four grandchildren, Laurie Guderski, Debbie (Kevin) Ott, Tom (Amanda) Bolger and Brian (Belle Burtts) Seymer; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Ott, Joey Ott, April Ott, Alison Ott and Elizabeth Seymer, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972; daughter Marjorie Bolger; granddaughter Linda Ann in infancy, brother Floyd (Janet) Wuerch; son-in-law Gerald Seymer.
Funeral service for Irma will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, May 18, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W3377 Main Street, Manchester, with Pastor Michael Plagenz officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at 10 A.M. until the time of service.
