David Herman Jansma "Skinny", age 56, of Markesan died peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 2, 2015.
David was born on October 11, 1958 in Beaver Dam, WI to Herman and Angeline (Postuma) Jansma. He attended Randolph High School. Dave spent his life working for farmers, bartending and selling vegetables. He filled much of his time with family and friends. David was the greatest supporter of his nieces and nephews. There was never a game that he missed. He was always sitting in the front row cheering the kids on! To Dave, these precious children were like his very own. David had a heart as big as he was. His love for people was evident were ever he went. Dave loved to talk and visit! David also enjoyed spending time with special friends, cooking, and grilling, going out to eat, watching sports on TV and loving his Pomeranian dog "Fancy". The gatherings at Spring Lake on Sundays will not be the same. Dave's big voice, sense of humor and contagious laugh will be greatly missed.
David was survived by his 4 brothers and 3 sisters: Joseph (Joyce) Jansma of Randolph; twin brother Daniel Jansma, Markesan; Thomas and Mary (late) Jansma, Randolph; Carl (Lorrie) Jansma, Markesan; Kathleen (Roger) Blatz , Beaver Dam; Kristine (William) Redman, Beaver Dam; Lisa (Jerome) Lund, Beaver Dam. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Angeline Jansma and sister-in-law Mary Jansma.
A celebration of David's life will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 6 P.M. at Markesan Community Funeral Home 868 N. Margaret Street, Markesan with Chaplain Dennis Richards officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3 P.M. until the time of service.
