Gerald Jules Seymer, age 78 of Manchester, went to his heavenly home on March 22, 2015 at his residence surrounded by family.
Jerry was born in Milwaukee on November 9, 1936 a son of Orlando and Edna (Stelter) Seymer. Jerry's family moved to the Markesan area when he was very young and grew up on the farm East of Markesan. He later moved to Milwaukee and worked for Louis Allis Co. for many years. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Jerry married Marlene Bernhagen on August 1, 1964. They had a son, Brian, and later moved to Manchester. Jerry then worked for 35 years at PMI also known as Avalon PMI. In 2002 He retired and started his own machine shop at home. Jerry was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Jerry is survived by his wife Marlene, son Brian (Belle Burtts) Seymer; granddaughter Elizabeth Seymer; brothers Nelson Seymer and Roger (Shirley) Seymer and sister Joyce Dornbrook; mother-in-law Irma Bernhagen, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Ann in infancy; parents; father-in-law William Bernhagen; brothers Cyril, Donald, Glen, Robert and Richard; sisters Phyllis Luedke and Sandra Seymer.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W3377 Main Street, Manchester, with Pastor Michael Plagenz officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Abendroth-Connolly Post 282 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Saturday at 10 A.M. until the time of service.
