Angeline “Angie” Winnifred (Posthuma) Jansma , age 77, of Beaver Dam died on Saturday, January 10, 2015 peacefully with family at her side. She won the race and met the ultimate goal of Heaven.
Angie was born June 24, 1937 in Hettinger , North Dakota. The daughter of George and Fannie Posthuma (Visser). She was married on August 15, 1956 to Herman Jansma in East Friesland, WI. They were married for forty-five years. God blessed them with 8 beautiful children. Angie was a very attentive daughter, mother and wife. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. Angie was a member of Crossroads Fellowship (Waupun Assembly of God) for many years. This love for the Lord overflowed to every person she came in contact with. She took this love and ministered as a nursing assistant for over fifty years. Angie worked at St. Joseph’s/Beaver Community Hospital caring for the newborn babies and then on the medical floor. Her career then lead her to Lakeview Nursing Home where she worked for a combined total of forty years. Angie’s career ended with working at Clearview in Juneau where she worked for another fifteen years. Her hobbies included cake decorating, cooking, baking, gardening, canning, raising Pomeranian puppies and most of all thrift shopping! Her grandchildren were the “apple of her eye”!
Survivors include her eight children, Joseph (Joyce) Jansma of Randolph, Daniel Jansma, David Jansma, Carl (Lorrie) Jansma all of Markesan, Thomas and Mary (late) Jansma of Randolph, Kathleen (Roger) Blatz, Kristine (William) Redman, Lisa (Jerome) Lund all of Beaver Dam. Thirteen grandchildren; Jason, Amanda, Danielle, Adam, Kyle , Logan, Ashley, Jessica, Hayden, Karissa, Preston, Mike and Matt, twelve great-grandchildren, three sisters; Marian (Roger) Westra, Denver Colorodo , Margaret (Dale) Allen, Bend, Oregon and Delores Artus, Libertyville, Illinois, many nieces, nephews, friends and many “foster” children who she loved like her own.
Her parents, George and Fannie , her husband, Herman, daughter-in-law, Mary , only brother Henry, and one close friend of the family, who was like her own son, William preceded her in death.
A celebration of Angie’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Crossroads Fellowship Church of Waupun, 846 E. Main Street, with Rev. Roger Blatz and Chaplain Dennis Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Friesland Cemetery.
