Wayne "Duke" Russel Lang

June 15, 1941 — December 20, 2014

Wayne Russel Lang, age 73 of Manchester, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by family.

Wayne was born on June 15, 1941, a son of Fred and Frances (Fiegel) Lang in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He graduated from Markesan High School in 1959 and was united in marriage to Kathleen Slinger on February 5, 1965 in Markesan, Wisconsin. Wayne was employed at Waupun Concrete Product in 1965 until 1996 when he began working with the Green Lake County Highway Department. He worked with Green Lake County for 18 years and recently retired in June of 2014. He enjoyed rodeos, tractor pulling, fox hunting and going out west hunting. Wayne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Wayne is survived by his son, Wayne (Billie) Lang of Markesan; his three daughters, Kay Lang, Karen Lang and Kandy Lang all of Markesan; three grandchildren, Landrie, Laramie and Ridge Lang; two brothers, Leslie (Sharon) Lang of Montello and Fred Jr. (Vicki) Lang of Dalton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen in 2010; his parents; his sister, Marion (Richard) Mace; his brother, Howard (Carol) Lang; Mother and Father-in-law, Temp (Viola) Slinger and his niece, Lindsey Lang.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W3377 Main Street, Manchester, with Rev. Michael Plagenz officiating. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Kingston.

Wayne's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan, and on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund has been established in Wayne's name.
