Bonnie G. Freriks

Bonnie Gale Freriks, age 69 of Waupun, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 surrounded by family.

Bonnie was born on June 30, 1945 in Waupun, Wisconsin, a daughter of Marvin and Maggie (Boerson) Damsteegt. On October 16, 1964 she was united in marriage to Raymond Freriks at Alto Reformed Church. She loved being outdoors going on nature walks, watching birds and going on car rides with her husband. Baking, sewing and knitting were some of her favorite hobbies. Bonnie was a member of the Waupun First Reformed Church and was an active member of AIMS and the Ladies Guild. She also sang in the choir, participated in mission trips and taught Sunday school. Her grandkids brought great joy to her and she loved spending time with them and attending their school functions.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Freriks of Waupun; 3 children, Scott (Melody) Freriks of Sheboygan and their children, Zachary (Jasminn) Freriks and Allison Freriks; Jeffery Freriks of Waupun and his children, Crystal Freriks, Courtney (Kyle) Welch, Brittany Freriks, Larissa Freriks, Chandler Freriks and Serena Freriks; Renee (Daniel) Zimmerman of Fox Lake and their children, Amber Zimmerman, Tyler Zimmerman, Colin Zimmerman and Braden Zimmerman; 8 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Mylin (Mary) Damsteegt, Norris Damsteegt, Eugene (Sharon) Damsteegt and David (Lori) Damsteegt; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Lont, Judith (Rudy) Thut, Janice (Robert) Abraham, Hal (Donna) Freriks, Kenneth (Nancy) Freriks, Kathleen (Bruce) McMyler, Susan (Michael) Hoekstra and Loretta (Pat) Wightman; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Elsie Lont and a sister in infancy.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at First Reformed Church , 422 West Franklin Street, Waupun, with Rev. Bob James officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.

Bonnie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, and on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service at church.

A memorial fund has been established in Bonnie’s name.
