Quentin “Bill” Fredisdorf
Quentin Bill Fredisdorf, age 85, died peacefully among family members on September 2, 2014 in Cape Coral, Florida. “Bill” as he was lovingly called, was born on April 12, 1929, in Berlin, Wisconsin to Edward and Frances Fredisdorf.
He resided with his parents and sister Wanda on a farm near Berlin until adulthood. Bill was an avid boxer winning the YMCA’s “quickest knockout” trophy award. On January 21, 1950, Bill married LaVerne Kusserow of New London, Wisconsin. Bill and La Verne enjoyed 64 years of marital bliss.
In 1952 and 1953, Bill earned the rank of corporal in the United States Army serving in the Korean War. From 1954 until 1984, Bill worked for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections in Waupun, Wisconsin earning the rank of Supervisor and Captain. Wife LaVerne and Bill retired to Pine Island, Florida in 1984 where he was an active member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His wife LaVerne remains a Florida resident. Quentin Bill Fredisdorf will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband; compassionate father; and trustworthy friend to many. Any person who had a relationship with Bill as spouse, child, or friend, had a better life as a result.
Surviving children include Mark, Wanda, and Scott. He is also survived by daughter-in-law Yoshiko (wife of Mark) and granddaughter Gia.
He was preceded by his eldest daughter Paula.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 Main Street, Waupun with Rev. Mike Stock officiating.
Bill’s family will receive family and friends on Friday, October 3rd from 2:30 until the hour of service.
