Rachel Sparr, 95, of Waupun passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Marvins Manor in Waupun.
Rachel was born on May 16, 1919 in the city of Loyal, Clark County, a daughter of Boyd and Edna (Roe) Williamson. She was a graduate of Amhurst High School and attended Stevens Point Education College. On November 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Anders “Andy” Sparr. Rachel was a member of Pella Lutheran Church, past president and participated in the Ladies Aide as well as teaching Sunday school. Rachel was also a past president of the Dodge County Homemakers Association and adult leader of the Achievers 4H Club.
Rachel is survived by two daughters Karin (John) Nyhuis of Oakfield, Kristine (Brian) Colby of Appleton; a son Anders (Linda) Sparr of Hartford; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a niece, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anders Sparr in 1998; parents and a brother Roe (Hazel) Williamson.
A Celebration of Rachel’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 South Madison Street, Waupun, officiated by Rev. Michael Stock. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Garden.
Rachel’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 25 at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 South Madison Street, Waupun from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Rachel’s Name.
