Shirley Ann Bashynski

October 17, 1932 — February 5, 2014

Shirley A. Bashynski, age 81 of Randolph, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at her residence.

Initial visitation will be held at the Randolph Community Funeral Home on Sunday, February 9th, from 4-7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, February 10th, from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at Annunciation Church in Fox Lake. The Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam following the service.

Memorials will be distributed by the family to various church missions and the Lost Lake – Randolph Historical Society.

Shirley was born October 17, 1932 in the town of Beaver Dam, daughter of John F. and Julia M. (Lubner) Smith. After graduating from Beaver Dam High School, she worked for a short time at Cleary Motors as a bookkeeper. On June 6, 1953 she was married to Arnold Bashynski at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. She lived her entire life in the Beaver Dam & Randolph area. Shirley was a member of St. Michael’s Mothers Club, St. Gabriel’s Christian Women, and the Lost Lake – Randolph Historical Society. She also served as a Religious Education Instructor at St. Gabriel’s Church. Most recently, she was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Fox Lake.

Shirley liked to crochet, read, watch television & movies, and very much enjoyed gatherings with friends & family. She treasured exchanging letters with her lifelong pen pal, Shirley May White from Metairie, Louisiana. She will always be remembered by her family as someone who loved talking with others and for the wonderful care that she gave her family.

She is survived by: Husband, Arnold; Four daughters & four sons: Jacqueline May (Dennis) Fleisner of Little Chute; Marguerite Kay Bashynski of Randolph, Anita Fay (Dick) Nehmer, of Beaver Dam; Betty Gay (Tim) Meeusen, of Columbus; Jerome Arnold (Terri) Bashynski, Kasper Anthony (Kate) Bashynski, Vincent Alois (Sue) Bashynski, all of Randolph; and Bart Andrew (AnnMarie) Bashynski, of Forest Lake, MN.; Grandchildren: Erika (Jason) Lloyd, Adrianna Fleisner, Gabe Fleisner, Emily Fleisner (fiancée Kevin Stelter), Maggie (Mike) Messler, Amanda Nehmer, Melissa Nehmer, Joe Meeusen, Andrew Meeusen, Sara (Garett) Leitz, Bridget Bashynski, Amy Bashynski, Austin Bashynski, Georgia Bashynski, Cody Bashynski, Marty Bashynski, and Cayden Bashynski; 6 Great-grandchildren, Sisters: Serena Fearing, of Green Bay; Marlene (Jay) Loomis, of Indianapolis, IN; Sisters-in-law: Adeline Yaroch, of Sun Prairie; Rita (Alfred) Bork, of Beaver Dam.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law: Willard Yaroch and William Fearing.
