Geraldine "Gerry" Dorothy Ruenger

Geraldine Dorothy Ruenger, age 87, of Waupun, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2014, at the Christian Home.

Funeral service to be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, with Rev. J.D. McCarty officiating.

Gerry will receive relatives and friends at Kohls Community Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the hour of service.

Memorial fund to be established to Heartland Hospice 63 West Pioneer Road of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin 54935.

Geraldine was born on December 7, 1926 in Omro, WI, daughter of William and Viola (Albright) Folzman. Gerry graduated from Waupun High School in 1945. On November 16, 1946, she married Rolland Ruenger at the United Methodist Church in Waupun. She lived in Waupun from 1942 to 1958, in Kingston from 1958 to 1978, and back to Waupun in 1978 to the present time.

Gerry and her husband owned and operated Kingston Locker Plant. She worked at the Green Lake Conference Center and at Moorman’s Feed in Waupun, retiring there in 1987. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Waupun, a past member of the VFW auxiliary and a past worthy matron 3 times of Waupun Chapter 144 Order of Eastern Star. Gerry enjoyed doing craft work, reading and playing cards with her family. To pass the time, she enjoyed looking up on the computer her favorite interests of lighthouses Indians and covered bridges as well as playing games.

She is survived by Rolland “Rollie”, her husband of 67 years, her daughter, Gail (Bob) Powell of Dalton, three sons: William (Sandy) Ruenger of Tuscon, AZ, Russell (Fadra) Ruenger of Bloomington, IL, and Mark (Barb) Ruenger of Waupun. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 step grand-children and 3 step great-grand children and nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and two sisters-in-law Evelyn Ruenger and June (Arthur) Houdek.
