Warren Lee Litscher, 76, of Randolph, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Randolph.
Warren was born on June 14, 1937, in the family home on Williams Street. He was the son of Emerson “Diver” and Clara (Schmidt) Litscher. He was raised in Randolph attending school there and graduating from Randolph High School in 1955. Upon graduation Warren enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for three years. Warren graduated from Madison Business College and then worked for the Department of Transportation in Milwaukee. When Fox Lake Correctional Institution opened in 1962, Warren began employment in the business office and retired in 1996. Warren was a long-time bartender at Feil’s Supper Club. He was a member of the Randolph Fire Department as well as a charter member of the Randolph E.M.S.
As a WIAA official, Warren officiated football, basketball, volleyball and softball games throughout the area. Warren loved golf, golf and more golf and was a member of the Fox Lake Golf Club where he hit two holes in one. Warren was a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and on various church committees. He enjoyed singing with the church choir and ringing with the bell choir.
On Feb. 16, 1974, Warren was united in marriage to Linda Stam in Randolph where they have since resided.
Warren is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Leanne (Jeff) Fietz, a son-in-law David Slinger, a grandson Lee Slinger, an AFS daughter Parmilla Gnansekaran, and his mother-in-law Lenora Stam. Warren is further survived by his brother Jon (Betty) Litscher, their children, Steven Litscher, Amy Jo Litscher and son Elias, John (Tiffany) Litscher and their daughter Addison and son Conner, many other brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Leonard C. Stam, a brother-in-law Lee Stam, a daughter Lynnae Marie Slinger and an infant granddaughter Rebecca Marie Slinger.
A Celebration of Warren's life will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Randolph United Methodist Church, 227 North High Street, Randolph, with Pastor Mary Balson officiating.
Warren's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday at the church beginning at 9 A.M. until the time of service.
