Marie Matilda Rahn

Marie Matilda Rahn, age 89 of Markesan, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013, at her home in Markesan with family and friends by her side.

Marie was born on February 24, 1924 in Adams, North Dakota, the daughter of Ludwig and Matilda (Krause) Spielvogel. On April 5, 1942 Marie was united in marriage to Reinhold Rahn.
Marie obtained her nursing assistant certificate and was employed for 32 years as a nurses aide, 27 of those years in the Markesan Resident Home. She was a devoted Packer and Brewers fan. Marie loved to travel and drive to unique locations whether it was near or far she still enjoyed the moment.

Marie is survived by her son, Roeman (Jill) Rahn, Grand Marsh, WI, three daughters: Charlotte (Leon) Harvey, Hudson, FL, Imajean Story, Atlanta, GA; Olive (Richard) Dykstra, Readstown, WI, three grandchildren: Roeman (Sue) Rahn, Jr., Timmy (Penny) Rahn, Tammy (John) Dahlke; six great-grandchildren Cindy Rahn, Tyler (Kim) Rahn, Samantha (Alonzo Cartwright) Dahlke, Katie (Cory) Mars, Joshuia (Elise Schmidt) Dahlke, Nicholas (Selena Rosales) Rahn; five great-great-grandchildren and her brother Raymond (Marion) Spielvogel, niece Judy Jarogoske, special friends Jody Kohn, Janice Rahn and Gail Powell and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a stepson, Delano Rahn, and a great-grandson, David.

Private family services will be held with burial in the Randolph Cemetery.
