Dorothy Ethel Rose Stresing

Dorothy Stresing, age 93 of Kingston, went to her Lord on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Ripon Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Grace Lutheran Church, N796 Linden Street, Dalton, with Rev. John Unnasch officiating. Burial will follow in the Kingston Cemetery.

Dorothy's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy’s name may be given to the Grace Lutheran Church in Dalton.

Dorothy was born on July 1, 1920, in Whitefish Bay, the only child of William and Laura Ritzler. She graduated from Marquette University with a Masters Degree in Journalism. Dorothy taught elementary school for five years. Dorothy worked as a private duty practical nurse for Mrs. Schonlaber, the heir of Ambrosia Chocolate for ten years. On November 17, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Charles Stresing. The couple lived in Greenfield where they raised their three daughters, spending summers at their cottage on Little Green Lake. In 1986, they retired to the Kingston area, where Dorothy embraced her 26 acres and her beloved woods. Dorothy had a passion for reading. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Dalton.

Dorothy is survived by three daughters: Connie and her husband Allen Gobert, of Elkhart Lake, Karen Lieuallen, of Appleton, and Holly and her husband, Scott Marshall, of Kingston. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Jeremy (Michelle) Gobert, Chad Gobert, Terra Lieuallen, and Wren Dilworth, and one great-granddaughter, as well as other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death her husband on Jan. 5, 1995, and a granddaughter, Lark Markunas, on June 12, 2012.
