Margaret E. Neitzel

Margaret Etta Neitzel, age 96, formerly of Waupun, died on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her East Troy residence, with family at her side.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Pella Lutheran Church, 15 S Madison Street, Waupun, with Rev. Michael Stock officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.

Margaret’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established for Pella Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and Aurora VNA Hospice, 500 Interchange N Ste 1, Lake Geneva WI 53147.

Margaret was born on June 9, 1917 in Markesan, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Kluth) Whitehouse. She graduated from Markesan High School and on June 2, 1940, she was united in marriage to Clarence Neitzel at Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun. Margaret was a devoted wife and cherished taking care of her family. She loved working in her kitchen and spoiling everyone with her good cooking. Margaret enjoyed card playing with friends. She was a longtime member of Pella Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid. Margaret lived independently until moving in with her daughter three years ago. Her family was her priority and she loved spending time with her grand children and great- grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by two daughters: Barbara McGray, East Troy, and Lynnae (Jay) Sandstrom, Oshkosh; four grandchildren: Lisa Ann (Mike) Hoppe, Laura Sue (Tim) Sawyer, Jay Spencer Sandstrom, and Cole Tyson (Shannon) Sandstrom. Further survivors are her nine great-grandchildren: Michael, Kayla, Lukas, Miranda, Taven, Amber, Colton, Savanna and Landon.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Butch” in 1989, and siblings with spouses: Butch (Erna) Whitehouse, Beatrice (Carl) Bruske, Evelyn (Bill) Laudon, Gordon (Lorraine) Whitehouse, Leonard (Lucille) Whitehouse, Juliana Whitehouse and her infant brother Lyle.
