Clayton Willard Solberg, age 89 of Waupun, died on Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Christian Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun, with Chaplain Wick Hubers officiating.
Memorial donations may be designated to the Waupun Food Pantry in Clayton’s name.

Clayton was born on November 7, 1923 in Viroqua, WI, son of Melvin and Ella (Berger) Solberg. He was a 1941 graduate of Westby High School and went to a city college in Los Angeles, CA. Clayton served his country with the United States Army during World War II from March of 1943 to March of 1946. On June 14, 1952, he was united in marriage to Florene Zickert in Waupun. Clayton was employed as a Correctional officer in Waupun for over 26 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 210 and VFW Post 6709.
Clayton is survived by one daughter, Chloe (Wayne) Evans, Minnesota, one son, Steven (Mary) Solberg Slinger, five grandchildren: Louise Osterman, Dennis Evans, Michael Evans, Zachary and Josiah Solberg, three great-grandchildren: Christopher, Allysa, and Emma, and an adopted sister, Lois Hogan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his daughter, Vicki Kolakowski and his grandson Jason Evans.
