Jane Elaine Schraven, of Fond du Lac, and formerly of Waupun, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Grancare Nursing Home in Fond du Lac, reunited with the love of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 118 W Main Street, Waupun, with Rev. Michael Wild officiating. Burial will be in the Brandon Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on the family at the church on Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Jane’s family appreciates the great care, compassion, dignity and respect shown to their mother during her stay at the Agnesian Healthcare Hospice Home of Hope. Also thanks to Dr. Kumar for his care and kindness. Jane was born on January 15, 1937, a daughter of Harold and Lucille, nee Zubrod, Baker. She graduated from Goodrich High School in 1955. On May 26, 1956 she was united in marriage to Clarence F. Schraven in Fond du Lac. Jane enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was employed at Electric Wire Company for 26 years. Jane enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Working on word searches was a favorite pastime. She was a bargain shopper and loved going to thrift stores. Jane was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun.
Jane is survived by her children: Thomas (Sandy) Schraven, Oakfield, James Schraven, Texas, and Mary Schraven, Fond du Lac, Vickie (Greg) Reisen, Waupun, Debra (Jeffrey) Pier, N Fond du Lac, and Jodi (Richard) Hartman, Eldorado; her grandchildren: Cassie Schraven and fiancé Phil Kurzer, Brian and Tanya Hansen, Steve and Katlyn Hansen, Tony and Martina Schraven, Jenny and Cory Arthurs, Candice and Brandon Tesch, Ben Reisen, Alicia Reisen, Kayla Pier, Sarah and Jake Harmsen, and Shawna Hartman. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, especially her little bug-a-boo Maddox Harmsen, her sister, Barbara Baker, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her newfound acquaintence from Grancare, Jeanette Bronkhorst.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, Martin Baker.
