Earl Wessels

Earl Wessels, age 85 of Waupun, died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Christian Home, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Trinity Reformed Church, 521 S. Madison Street, Waupun, with Pastor John White officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Mound Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard.

Earl’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 1 from 5-8 p.m. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street Waupun, and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in Earl’s name.
Kohls Community Funeral Home is serving the family.

Earl was born November 2, 1927 in the Town of Alto, WI, a son of William and Laura (Duitman) Wessels. On June 12, 1954, Earl was united in marriage to Jean Pfund in Fond du Lac, WI. Early in life, Earl was employed with Henry Mews Construction for fourteen years. He then worked as a janitor for the Waupun School District for thirty years. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Reformed Church where he was a past deacon, also active on the church committee. Earl was a member of the American Legion Post 210 of Waupun.

Earl is survived by Jean, his wife of 59 years, one son, Larry Wessels, Fond du Lac; four daughters: Barbara (Raymond) Price, Menominee Falls, Marlene, Karen and Daralyn Wessels, all of Waupun. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Wessels, a brother in infancy and his nephew Harlan Wessels.
