Dr. Theodore B. Patek (Doc), age 89 of Randolph, died at Beaver Dam Community Hospital on April 1, 2013.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on April 6th, 2013 at Annunciation Catholic Church, 305 W Green St, Fox Lake, WI with Rev. Michael Wild officiating. Burial will follow in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery, Randolph, WI.
Doc’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to a local food pantry.
Dr. Patek was born to Lucas and Helen Patek on August 30, 1923 in Kewaunee, WI He married the former Jean Swifka on June 26, 1948 at St Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Kewaunee, WI. Dr. Patek served in the U. S. Navy in World War II. Doc completed a two year pre-veterinary program at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and 4 years of veterinary education at Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa. After graduation in 1949 he moved to Randolph, WI where he practiced for 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the Dodge County Veterinary Association. Upon retirement from veterinary medicine, he continued his real estate business known as Dual County Realty.
Doc and Jean enjoyed traveling and had many enjoyable trips throughout the United States and abroad. He had a lifetime enjoyment of gardening and particularly enjoyed tending his apple and cherry orchards and planting trees of all varieties. He was a long time member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church of Randolph which is now a part of the Annunciation Parish in Fox Lake, WI.
Dr. Patek was loved in life and will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his children: Barbara (Charles) Deal of Homer AK, Anthony (Betty Ruth) Patek of Irvington, AL, David (Ann) Patek of Oshkosh, WI, Michael (Brenda) Patek of Sussex, WI, and William (Jodi) Patek of Madison, WI. He is also survived by four grandchildren: James (Julia) Patek, Robert Patek, Emily Patek, and Andrew Patek. In addition, he is survived by a special friend, Bernadine Jeffries.
He was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Lucas Patek, his wife Jean, his daughter Constance Ann, his brothers John and Leo, his sisters Mary and Eleanor, along with his sister-in law Mary and two brothers-in-law Walter and Jack.
