Mary G Sprague

December 25, 1938 — February 26, 2013

Mary Geraldine Sprague, age 74 of Eldorado, passed away on February 26, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Waupun Assembly of God Church, 846 E Main Street, with Pastor Jeffrey Casper officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosendale Cemetery.

Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund is being established in Mary’s name.

Mary was born on December 25, 1938 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Sylvester and Dorothy (Burns) Hoch. She graduated from Rosendale High School with the Class of 1956. On June 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to Melvin Sprague in Oshkosh. Mary looked forward to their annual trip to Hawaii. She was employed by Miles Kimball in Oshkosh for many years. As a nature lover, she enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Mary was also an avid reader. She was a longtime beloved member of the Waupun Assembly of God Church.

Mary was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed and is lovingly survived by Melvin, her husband of 56 years, a daughter, Deb (Michael) Schmalzer, Rosendale and their daughter Bambi (Steve) Godkin, Virginia, an adopted daughter, Lisa Kurtz, New York, and her son Michael Kurtz, her sister, Dorie (Martin) Strook, Waupun, her brother, Jackie Hoch, Waupun, sister-in-law, Joann (Gene) Klein, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Richard Sprague.
