Brenda Joyce Brown, age 72 of Waupun, died with family members at her side, on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Christian Home in Waupun.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W Main Street, Waupun, with Chaplain Wick Hubers officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Brenda’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund has been established for the Christian Home or the American Cancer Society.

Brenda was born on July 11, 1940 in Watertown, S.D., a daughter of Richard and Estella (Beahm) Brown. As a young child she moved with her family to Waupun, WI where she has lived most of her life. Brenda enjoyed arts and crafts: coloring, drawing, and making greeting cards to send to her large family and special friends. She loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews playing cards and games. Brenda had an admiration for Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley, and collected many of their items over the years. She was a longtime participant at Friendship Club in Beaver Dam for over 20 years and looked forward to their meetings, outings, and especially their camping trips. Brenda accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior several years ago.

Brenda is survived by her ten siblings: Roberta “Bobbie” Shaw, Richard (Diane) Brown, Shirley Brown, Georgia Mecklenberg, Donna Redden, Wayne (Joyce) Brown, William (Carolyn) Brown, Michael (Gloria) Brown, Linda Thurk, Diane (Octaviano) Garcia, all of Waupun, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers-in-law: Donald Mecklenberg, Marvin Thurk and Melvin Shaw, two nephews: Richard Shaw and Anthony Skilling, and a great-nephew Caven.
