Clara Louise Tessmann, age 99 of Randolph, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Golden Years Senior Living in Randolph.

A Celebration Service of Clara’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church, 327 Jones Drive, Randolph, with Pastor Daniel Schumann officiating. Private graveside services will be held prior to interment in Glenview Memorial Park in Ixonia.
Clara’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be appreciated for funeral expenses.

Clara was born on January 2, 1914 in Coloma, WI, the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Lechner) Schmoock. She graduated from Coloma High School in 1931. In May of 1941, she married Walter Tessmann. They moved to Randolph in 1963. Clara always had a large garden where she nurtured flowers, and grew vegetables for canning. She was employed locally at Rockwell International, Hopkins Chemical, and the Continental Manor after her husband died. Clara enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Meal Site. She was a very selfless, giving person. She was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Randolph where she was formerly active in the Women’s Ministry. Clara enjoyed her time living at the Golden Years where she was able to spend precious time with her sister Millie.

Clara is survived by her son Carl Tessmann, five grandchildren; Bonnie (Robert) Garms, Oconomowoc, Allen (Deborah) Zabel, Darlene (Leroy) Godgroy, both of Watertown, David (Nancy) Tessmann, and Daryl (Deleene) Tessmann, both of Illinois, ten great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1978, two sisters; Evelyn Rupnow, and Millie Smith, three brothers; Kenneth, Gilbert, Antone, and two infant brothers, Ernest and August, her daughter, Betty Mae Zabel, a daughter-in-law, Irene Tessmann, a sister-in-law, Catherine Schmoock, and a brother-in-law, Hollis Smith.
