Clara Charlotte Litscher

Clara Charlotte Litscher, age 103 of Randolph, died on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Randolph United Methodist Church, 227 North High Street, with Rev. Young Choe officiating. Burial will be in the Randolph Cemetery.
Clara’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund is being established for the Randolph United Methodist Church or the Dodge County Humane Society, N6839 State Road 26, Juneau, WI 53039.

Clara was born on May 31, 1909, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Nashold) Schmidt in the village of Randolph. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1927 and then attended Carroll College for two years, coming back home to care for her ill mother. On February 2, 1937, she was united in marriage to Emerson Litscher in Rockford, IL. They lived in Randolph where Clara dedicated her life to her family, living in the house where she was born for 103 years. Clara was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Randolph, and attended Randolph United Methodist Church for the past 35 years. She was an active participant of the United Methodist Women. Clara had a passion for stray animals, enjoyed feeding them, especially cats “Fluffy” and “The Black and White”. She was an avid fan of Lawrence Welk and enjoyed going to his local shows with family.

Clara is survived by two sons, Warren (Linda) Litscher, Randolph, and John (Betty) Litscher, Beaver Dam. Also surviving are grandchildren; Leanne (Jeff) Fietz, Fox Lake, Steven Litscher, Verona, Amy Jo Litscher, Lake Mills, John (Tiffany) Litscher, Middleton, and David Slinger, WY, and great-grandchildren, Lee Slinger, Elias and Addison Litscher, special friends, Doris Krause and Vickie Wolff, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Lynnae Slinger, a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Slinger, and her cousin and special friend, Leah Fuller.
