Charles Charley De Vries

Charles DeVries, age 91 of Randolph, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at
Golden Living Center – Continental Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Second Christian Reformed Church, 332 Tamarack Street, Randolph, with Rev. Karl Bratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit at the church on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund has been established in Charles’ name.

Charley was born on February 2, 1921 in rural Randolph, the son of Henry and Susie (Burmania) De Vries. Charles was a lifelong resident of the Randolph area where he owned and operated a dairy farm. He was a member of the Second Randolph Christian Reformed Church where he formerly served as a deacon and elder. Charles was married on June 14, 1946 to Sylvia Kempenaar in Randolph.
Charles is survived by Sylvia, his wife of 66 years, two sons; Charles De Vries, Randolph, WI and Daryl (Brenda) De Vries, Granger, WA, three daughters; Sandra Steele, Des Moines, Iowa, Rita Schmidt, Green Acres, FL, and Barbara (Harvey) Los, Princeton, MN, ten grandchildren; Jason, (Carrie) Steele, Rennae Steele, Dylan Turner, Desiree Turner, Jennifer (Barry) Braun, Melisa (Tony) Bryant, Abby (Jason) Bryant, Derek (Kim) De Vries, Brandon (Jeniffer) De Vries and Tim De Vries, nine great-grandchildren, Peyton and Connor Steele, Jackson, Raina, Remy, and Ollie Braun, Ashley and Preston Bryant, and Lucy Bryant, two brothers; Marvin De Vries, Waupun, and Harold (Fran) De Vries, Randolph, two sisters-in-law, Mildred De Vries and Alice De Vries, a brother-in-law, Donald Van Beek, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by brothers; John, Peter, Frank, Willard, and Chester De Vries, his sister Johanna Van Beek, a great-granddaughter, Hope, and sons-in-law, Raymond Steele and Ed Schmidt.

Randolph Community Funeral Home is serving the family.
