Josephine Josie Konings

Josephine Schouten Konings, 85, of Waupun, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the Christian Home in Waupun.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 26, at Kohis Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, with Pastor Calvin Vande Zande officiating. Inurnment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.

Josephine's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund has been established in Josie's name.

Born on January 27, 1927, in Alto, Josephine was a raised by loving grandparents. On January 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Gordon Konings. Josephine was employed at the Ideal Shoe factory for many years in Waupun and later worked at the shoe factory in Beaver Dam. She worked hard and in her time off enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and friends. Josephine was the best mom she knew how to be, and often enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. She volunteered at the Waupun Senior Center for several years, where she cultivated many dear friendships. Josephine was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Waupun.

Josephine is survived by two daughters, Deborah and her husband, Roger Buros, Oakfield; Diane and her husband, Mike Erickson, Ward Cove, Alaska; her stepson, Robert and his wife Sandra Konings, DeTour, MI; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, and her husband, Gordon on May 5, 1990.
