Karen Kay McDonald, age 68 of Brownsville, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2012 at her home.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Brownsville Community Club, 871 Main Street, Brownsville, officiated by Rev. Franklin P. Moore.
Karen’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday at the Community Club from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Karen was born on May 11, 1944 in Waupun, the daughter of Jacob and Edna (Anderson) Dommisse. On September 1, 1962, she married Jerry McDonald in Waupun. They lived in Brownsville, where they owned Jerry’s Service Garage. Karen was a loving wife and mother, who enjoyed nurturing her children, working in her garden, and taking care of their home. She was formerly employed at Sand Knit in Waupun, Shopko in Fond du Lac, and Phelon in Lomira where she worked for 15 years. Possessing a fun-loving nature, Karen often played fun pranks on family and co-workers. Her great sense of humor was appreciated and will be missed. Karen enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and gambling. Her grandchildren were a source of great joy to her, and she looked forward to being a great-grandma in the near future.
Karen is survived by two daughters; Stephanie (Tom) Riese, Oshkosh, Shannon (Steve) Cardinal, Oakfield, her son, Sean McDonald and friend Teresa, Brownsville and two granddaughters; Stormi (Nick) Malesevich and Camry Cardinal, her grandson, Hayden Cardinal, four sisters; Connie Baasch, Sandy (Dan) Hillary, Ruth Ann Boettcher, Donna Pluim, her brother, Brian (Deb) Dommisse, a sister-in-law, Joyce Dommisse, a brother-in-law, Paul Vines, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, a brother, Cully Dommisse, and a sister, Carol Vines.
A memorial fund has been established in Karen’s name.
