Lois B. Lange, age 82 of RIpon, died peacefully on June 20, 2012 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Lois B. Lange, beloved wife and mother, entered into eternal life on June 20, 2012.
She was born on March 5, 1930 to the late Clara and George Harrison. On April 8, 1960, she married Gregory J. Lange. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bob Harrison, Bill Harrison and Doris Erdmann.
Lois' creativity and artistry was evident throughout her life from her green thumb to her golden needle, from her artist's palette to her silver platter. An important part of her life included award winning projects: from sewing evening gowns to costumes to teddybears; gardening-flowers, fruits and vegetables, flower arranging, and landscaping; remodeling, building, and decorating; all types of handiwork; cakes created for special events including weddings of her children and others; and thousands and thousands of Christmas cookies and candies, especially caramels (gifted to many). Lois also dabbled in oil painting and had hoped to pursue it as she aged. She also loved reading and enjoyed card and word games, especially playing 'mean' games of Scrabble and Cribbage.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church-most recently in Brandon, WI, where her daughter Laura is pastor. Her church involvement included mission projects such as making blankets, quilts, sweaters, and comfort dolls. She also was involved in Bible study groups and Christian Women's Club. Lois' contributions of delicious homemade pies, pecan rolls and raised donuts-and many other contributions-were eagerly sought at church bake sales and breakfasts.
Lois will be greatly missed by her husband Greg and children Dorothy (Peter) Wickman, Dale (Tammy) Holm, John Lange, Laura (Matt) Yates, and grandchildren Katie, Ryan, Kara, Michael, Jennifer, Caleb and Joshua, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Lois was especially grateful to have been involved in the lives of grandsons Caleb and Joshua.
At Lois' request, a private graveside service for family only was held at Ledgeview Cemetery in Fond du Lac on June 22. Her family asks you to take a moment to remember Lois' life and her family with your prayers.
The family thanks the staff of Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac for their compassionate care, and friends and family members who visited and sent cards and prayers. Special thanks also to Kohls Community Funeral Home in Waupun for their kind assistance with the burial arrangements.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Lois' name. Contributions can be sent to Dorothy Wickman, 3331 Barrick Heights Road, Sturgeon Bay, WI, 54235.
