Elaine Dorthea Wiese, age 87 of Oakfield, passed away unexpectedly

on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at her home, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Elaine was born on January 9, 1925 in Green Lake County, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Frei) Lamonska. After attending Markesan Schools, she was employed at National Rivet Manufacturing in Waupun. On June 3, 1944, she married Lloyd C. Wiese at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater. Elaine worked as a machinist at Oakfield Enterprise for 40 years. In her retirement she enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center, Tuesday morning coffee clutches at the bank, and needlework. Elaine loved giving her embroidered dish towels as gifts to family and friends. She was also an avid reader. Elaine was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Oakfield, where she was formerly active with the Ladies Aid Society.

Elaine is survived by three daughters; Shirley (John) Treptow, Fond du Lac, Bonnie (John) Dowidat, Oakfield, Karen (Alan) Rebedew, Eden, one son, Lloyd (Carol) Wiese, North Fond du Lac, nine grandchildren; Christine (Andrew) Peters, Kimberly Dowidat and her special friend James Lau, Jason (Sheri) Dowidat, Lloyd Rebedew and special friend Jodi Wagner, Heather Rebedew and her special friend Michael Seipp, Karrie Rebedew, and her special friend Joe Odegard, Craig (Bethaney) Wiese, Scott (Amber) Wiese, and Ashley Wiese, ten great-grandchildren, Madison and Hunter Dowidat, Trevor, Trent, Troy, Tristan, and Trayton Rebedew, Riely and Mason Odegard, Aiden Wiese, Anika Wiese and her sibling expected in the fall. Elaine’s three brothers; Arnold (Murial) Lamonska, Ripon, Kenneth Lamonska, Oakfield, and Arthur (Carol) Lamonska, Green Lake, and her sister, Marjorie (Arnold) Renn, Princeton, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd in 1973, her grandson, Kevin Treptow, and three sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.on Saturday, March 31 at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oakfield, with Rev. Christopher Goelzer officiating. A private family inurnment will be held in Avoca Cemetery at a later date.

Elaine’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund is being established in Elaine’s name.
