Shirley Mae Mulligan, age 86, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her Waupun residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m.on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street Waupun, officiated by Rev. Mark Arbisi. Burial will follow in the Forest Mound Cemetery.
Shirley’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 9:30 until the hour of service.

Shirley was born on April 27, 1925 in Dodge County, a daughter of Herman and Meta (Bickel) Yuds. She graduated from ColumbusHigh School, and was united in marriage to Thomas J. Mulligan on June 29, 1946in Columbus. They moved to Waupun in 1959, where Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed sporting activities with her children, including ice and roller skating, fishing, swimming, water skiing, and softball. They enjoyed many family camping vacations; several in northern Wisconsinwhere they camped and fished. The family also went on frequent fishing expeditions on Lake Michigan on their boat “The Lucky M”. When her children were in high school, Shirley began employment with the Department of Corrections as a clerical worker. Thomas and Shirley were able to go traveling together, and especially loved those trips to Florida and Hawaii. Shirley was a longtime member of the Union Congregational Church in Waupun.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sharon Roberts, Bloomington, MN, two sons; John T. Mulligan and Robert P. Mulligan, both of Middleton, WI, one grandson, Kevin Roberts, Bloomington, MN, a great-grandson, Kaleb Strout - Roberts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2008, her son-in-law, Kent Roberts, and her brother Lester Yuds.
