Glenn John Marschie, age 73 of Brownsville, WI passed away at home, surrounded by his family on March 3, 2012 after a short battle with cancer.
There will be a time of visitation celebrating Glenn’s life at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun on Thursday, March 8 from 4 pm to 8 pm.; and at the church prior to the service on Friday beginning at 10 a.m.
The service will be at 11 a.m.on Friday, March 9 at Calvary Bible Church, 70 E Pioneer Rd, Fond du Lac, WI. Pastor Robert Love Sr., Pastor Dean Julian and Perry Walden will be officiating.
Burial will be at the Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield WI, with military honors provided by the Wisconsin Army Honor Guard.
The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and caregivers from Hospice, Dr. Jones and Dr. Vande Kooy and the nurses and staff at the Cancer Center of Fond du Lac for your thoughtfulness and commitment to Glenn’s care.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Glenn was born on February 24, 1939 in Grant County WI. He was the son of Elizabeth (Wolff) Marschie and Peter Marschie. He joined the Army at 17 1/2 years old, and was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia where he met the love of his life, Sara Annette Walden. They were married on April 25, 1958 in Aiken, South Carolina. After he was discharged from the Army he moved his family back to his home in Wisconsin. Glenn loved farming and enjoyed a lifetime of milking cows and working the land until he retired in 2008. While farming he also held jobs at Mercury Marine, Gellings Implement and as a milk hauler for several trucking companies but most recently Ron Meyer of Oakfield. Glenn had a gift of gab and wasn’t shy about talking to anyone; he could always find something in common to talk about. He had a knack for knowing how things worked and how to fix them. He was a caring and giving person and was willing to help anyone he could. His motto was to adapt and overcome; don’t let difficulties stop you and find a way to get past it.
Glenn is survived by Sara, his loving wife of 53 years, his children; Chris (Charlene) Marschie, Oakfield, Sherry Marschie Berrett, Brownsville, Sharlene (Stephen) Kintzler, Oakfield, Keith Marschie, Ripon, Shanette (Thom) Strizek, Fond du Lac and Joshua (Jessica) Marschie, Oakfield; his thirteen grandchildren; Heather (Jason) Marschie Dorn, Jillian and Jordyn Berrett, Olivia (Adam) Kintzler Lichtenberg, Ethan and Henry Kintzler, Justin, Madeline and Clayton Marschie, BobbieSue and Toni Menne, Wendie and Jack Strizek. He was known as Old Papa to his precious great-grand children: Abigail and Paityn Dorn, Ava and Emma Lichtenberg, Mikaila Dorn, and Lilly, JJ and Danica Menne. He is further survived by two sisters, Marion Jaremba and Doris (Wayne) Schwark both of Waupun, two sisters-in-law; Bonnie Marschie, Missouri, and Ethel Newsome, South Carolina, and a brother in law, JC (Maudie) Walden, BlytheGA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Shanna Marschie, two brothers, Kenneth and Marvin Marschie, he also had many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews that preceded him in death.
