Al was born on December, 5, 1934 on the family farm in the town of Courtland, Columbia County, WI, a son of Henry and Hannah (Kooistra) Posthuma. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1952, and continued farming on his birthplace for 50 years. On June 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marlene Drzonek at St. Peters Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Al was always a good provider for his family; a dedicated, conscientious worker who passed on his good work ethics to his family. He was a lifelong Randolph resident who lived in the same house for all of his 77 years. While he managed his farm, Al also worked at Hopkins and at Kraft Foods. In 1994, he retired from farming and was employed at Jungs Seed Company for the past 15 years. Al enjoyed gardening and keeping his lawn looking immaculate. He was an avid sports fan, following the Packers, Chicago Cubs, and the Bucks. He was a member of St. Katharine’s Drexel Parish.

Al is survived by Marlene, his wife of 56 years, three children; Jeff Posthuma and his three children, Pam (Ron) Guess and their three children, and Sue Krause and her three children and their father Lind Krause, four great-grandchildren, his sister, Audrey (Sam) St. Arnold, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
