Kenneth Lee Brandenburger

Kenneth Lee Brandenburger, age 69 of Randolph, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 S. High Street, Randolph, with Rev. Michael Wild officiating. Burial will follow in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery, Randolph.

Kenny’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 24 from 4 – 8 PM and Wednesday from noon until the hour of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted in Kenny’s name to be distributed to several charities.

Kenny was born on September 22, 1942 in Ellendale, North Dakota, a son of Theodore and Vivian (Gehring) Brandenburger. As a young man, Kenny moved to Wisconsin to work with his uncle. On January 26, 1970, he married Barbara Ebert. He was employed as a cable splicer for various companies, retiring in 2007 from CenturyTel in Randolph. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family. Kenny enjoyed spending time in his precious “man cave”, which was the cleanest garage around. He generously shared this area for family gatherings over the years. Kenny loved hunting and fishing both locally and many other places he traveled to. He especially looked forward to returning to North Dakota to visit family and hunt and fish.

Kenny is survived by Barb, his wife of nearly 42 years, five daughters; Denise Krueger and friend Matt Coffey, Red Granite, WI, Connie (Randy) Rutten, Larsen, WI, Carrie Klipfel, Randolph, Terri Johnson and friend Merle Hammack, Rockford, IL, and Jean (Ron) Bittner, Columbus, WI, seven grandchildren; Lucas and Owen Krueger, Joette and Grant Strook, Jessica (Derrick) Standke, and Colton and Brooke Bittner, five great-grandchildren; his brother, Roger (Pat) Brandenburger, Ellendale, N.D., four sisters, Barbara Hofer, Sun Prairie, Diana (David) Jones, Randolph, Dana Brandenburger, Sun Prairie, Lori (Rodell) Fuchs, Mitchell, S.D., a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Dustin Klipfel, aunts and uncles, a brother-in-law, Edward Hofer, a sister, Vicki Jury, a niece and a great-nephew.

Just wanted extend my deepest sympathies to you all. Kenny & your family were a huge part of my childhood memories. As a kid, I was lucky enough to be able to

hang out in Kenny's "man cave" and enjoy many social gatherings that your family put on. Through out the years, Kenny provided a great deal of entertainment to me and my friends (some in the forms of free HBO & Showtime,

thanks Kenny! :) but mostly because he always could make me laugh and had so many stories to share.

Whether it'd be about hunting, fishing, card playing, Old Style enjoyment, a dirty joke, or to pick on Barb,

he was a great guy to hang around. Thanks for all the great memories Kenny. I hope you and Kenny Derrick, Fred Yaroch, Lover Wade are all up there in Heaven playing cards, drinking a cold Old Style, and
