Grace Fietz

Grace Fietz, age 86 of Waupun, died on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun, surrounded by her loving family..

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at Trinity Reformed Church, 521 S. Madison St. Waupun, with Rev. John White officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 19 from 4 – 7 p.m.at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun, and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of service.

Grace was born on August 21, 1925, the daughter of John and Clara (Hoffman) Posthuma. On November 4, 1947, she was united in marriage to Orlin Fietz at First Christian Reformed Church of Randolph. They lived in Waupun where Grace was employed at WaupunMemorialHospital for 21 years as a housekeeper. Grace was a faithful member of Trinity Reformed Church. Her faith and family were a very important part of her life. Grace was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her five daughters, and a proud grandmother and great-grandma who enjoyed attending their sporting and other events. She also enjoyed reading and listening to gospel music.

Grace is survived by Orlin, her husband of 64 years, five daughters; Cheryl (Dennis) Schouten, Waupun, Sandy (Bob) Huecker, Lomira, Charlene (Rich) Kamphuis, Waupun, Julie (Mike) Fuhs, Peoria, AZ, and Carla (Randy) Landaal, Waupun, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, four sisters; Agnes Schmidt, Jeanette Tjepkema, Sylvia (Clinton) Smith, Claraine (Ron) Buteyn, all of Waupun, two brothers; Clarence (Alice) Posthuma, Brandon, Jim (Betty) Posthuma, Waupun, brother and sisters-in law; Winnie, Theresa, and Jane Posthuma, Mae Opel, Clarence (Fola) Fietz, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Flora Notti, four brothers; Eli, Carl, Alvin, and Jake Posthuma, brothers and sisters-in-law; Betty Posthuma, Marvin Schmidt, William Opal, Jerry Tjepkema, Edna and Les Thomas, Marion and Virgil Pollard, Willard and Shirley Fietz, Erv and Donna Fietz, John and Audrey Fietz, Cliff Fietz, Jean Davis, LaVern and Julie Fietz, and Bud and Arlene Fietz.

Grace's family wishes to thank the staff of Prairie Ridge, of Waupun and Generations Hospice from Fond du Lac for the wonderful care that was given to Grace.
