Cleo Dell Ganz, age 83 of Waupun, died on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Cleo’s life will be held at 11 a.m.on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Waupun UnitedMethodist Church, 199 E. Jefferson Street, with Rev. J.D. McCarty officiating. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date in Forest Mound Cemetery.
Cleo’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 29 from 5 – 8 p.m.at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun, and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m.until the time of service.
Cleo was born in Elmwood, WI on August 21, 1928 to Clyde and Marcilia (Baskin) Chapman. She was 18 when her mother died, and her father married Marie Dillman in 1949. Cleo graduated from Juneau High Schooland then worked in Dodge County Court House for the County Clerk. On March 5, 1949, she married Donald Ganz of Waupun, where they lived and raised five children. Later in life, they enjoyed spending the winter in Tuscan, AZ for fourteen years. She worked at Waupun Memorial Hospital and Capital Finance for many years. Cleo was a loving mother and grandmother who treasured being with her family. She enjoyed going to the library, playing cards and taking bus trips. Another favorite pastime of hers was watching movies, and she especially enjoyed those starring Marilyn Monroe. She was a loyal Packer and Brewer fan. Cleo was an active member of Waupun United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children; Steven Ganz, Susan (Dennis) Veleke, and Lorrie Kreuziger, Waupun; eight grandchildren; Dean (Kelly) Kreuziger, Aime Hartgerink and her fiancé Richard Walker; Andy Kreuziger, Sarah Long, Jessica (Jim) Jaeger, Melissa (John) Rosenthal, Matthew Ganz, and Michael (Alyssa) Ganz; twelve great-grandchildren; Megan and Alyssa Kreuziger, Kersten and Keegan Hartgerink, Amber and Nick Long, Mitchell and Joshua Jaeger, Nathan and Gabrielle Rosenthal, Augrina and Autumn Ganz, her sister, Mary (Chuck) Onderejka; her step-mother, Marie Chapman, a brother-in-law, Jerry “Baldy” (Sally) Ganz; and a sister-in-law, Delores Ganz..
She was preceded in death by Don, her husband of 51 years; her son, Robert Ganz; her daughter, Patricia Ganz; her parents; a brother, Rex Chapman; a great-granddaughter, Corrin Anne Jaeger; a son-in-law, Roger Kreuziger; and a brother-in-law, Douglas Ganz.
A memorial fund has been established in Cleo’s name.
