Duane Ronald Panzer, age 68 of Brownsville, died peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Duane was born on July 29, 1942 in the Town of Oakfield, a son of Harold and Linda (Marquardt) Panzer. In his younger years, Duane set pins at local bowling alleys. Following his graduation from Oakfield High School in 1960, Duane worked on the family farm in the Brownsville area. He married Sandra Schulz on April 25, 1970 at Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun. Duane was a lifelong Brownsville/Oakfield area resident, continuing the family farming tradition with his father and his son and daughter. He was a hard working, honest man whose priority was his family. Duane was also a Green Bay Packer fan.
Duane is survived by Sandra, his wife of forty-one years; his son Ron (Lynette) Panzer, Waupun, two daughters; Jean (Chuck) Lund, Oakfield, and Page (Duane) Fryar, Merrill, three grandchildren; Jenna Panzer, Samantha and Spencer Fryar, two sisters-in-law; Sandra Panzer, Oakfield, and Judi Gassner, Mayville, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Raymond, and an infant sister Arlene.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 South Madison Street, Waupun, with Rev. J. Michael Stock officiating. Entombment will be at Ledgeview Cemetery in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Fond du Lac.
Duane’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Duane’s name.
Duane’s family wishes to thank the ICU nursing staff at St. Agnes Hospital and the Hospice Home of Hope for their compassionate care.
