Mae H. Olsen

Mae H. Olsen, age 89 of Waupun, died on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

Mae was born on September 11, 1921 in the Town of Trenton, to William and Maggie (Vande Zande) Te Beest. She graduated from Waupun High School with the Class of 1939. On June 14, 1947, she was married to Robert H. Olsen in Waupun. Mae enjoyed people and used her social skills for many years as an employee of Wisconsin Telephone Company, and was also as an Avon Representative for forty years. Mae loved traveling, camping, baking and cooking, and was always lending a helping hand. She was a longtime member of the First Reformed Church in Waupun.

Mae is survived by her daughter, Diana Prause, St. Charles, MO; two sons, Jeffrey Olsen, Brandon, WI; and William Olsen, Waupun, WI; five grandchildren, Davin Roedl, Amanda Prause, Anthony Olsen, Breanna Olsen, Courtney Olsen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 at First Reformed Church, 422 W. Franklin St. Waupun with Rev. Bob James and Rev. Donald Boss officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Mound Cemetery.

Mae’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 3, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun; and on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Western Theological Seminary, 101 East 13th Street, Holland, MI 49423.
