Dorothy I. Jacobitz, age 99 and formerly of Brandon/Rosendale and Waupun areas, died on Monday, March 14, 2011 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac.
Dorothy was born on November 21, 2911 in Ladoga, the daughter of Bert and Gertrude (Wilkinson) Pinkerton. Dorothy graduated from the Brandon High School. On October 19, 1936, she was united in marriage to Learmont Jacobitz in Ladoga, and they farmed in the Brandon, Rosendale area until retiring to Waupun in 1970. Dorothy and her husband were very dedicated to the Waupun Senior Center for many years. Dorothy had a love for people and was always willing and ready help others. In later years she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and word searches; and the activity program at All About Life. Dorothy was a member of Union Congregational Church.
Dorothy is survived by a sister-in-law, Elaine Pinkerton of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews, Sandra and Bob Westphal, MI, Gary and Bev Pinkerton, Oshkosh, Bruce Pinkerton, Waupun, Sharon and Ken Peters, Brandon, Carol Miller, Sheboygan, Lori Simonis, Oconomwoc, and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Forrest and Carroll Pinkerton; two nephews, Lloyd Pinkerton and Wayne Jacobitz, and several brothers and sisters- in-law.
A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun with Rev. Mark Arbisi officiating Burial will follow in Wedges Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy’s name.
A special thank you to all the staff at All About Life Rebab for the wonderful care given to Dorothy these last seven years. She really felt at home.
