Alan Lee Mills

Alan Lee Mills, age 46 of Fox Lake, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at his home.

Alan was born on May 2, 1965 in Beaver Dam, a son of Victor and Carol (Pratt) Mills. He attended Fox Lake and Waupun schools. Alan worked in the area as a meat cutter and also as a carpenter. He was an avid animal lover, adoring his many pets, and taking care of strays. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting, and was an expert fisherman “who could make any fish bite”.

Alan is survived by Lonie Schlefke, his significant other of over twenty years; her daughter Allegra (Ken) Jensen and their daughter Emilia, Madison, four siblings; Paula Mills, Texas, Rick (Liz) Mills, Deb (Lee) Axelson, both of Waupun, and Greg (Bernice) Mills, Oklahoma, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is further survived by Lonie’s siblings; Lee (Peggy) Schlefke, Lois Kruel and her significant other, Jerry Bell, all of Beaver Dam; Lila (Richard) Feggestad, Hudson; several hunting and fishing buddies and many friends.

His parents preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun with Rev. Jerry Sherstad officiating.

Alan’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Alan’s name.
