Loran Glen Lienhard, age 84 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI.
Loran was born in Almond, WI on September 5, 1926, a son of Erwin and Martha (Barth) Lienhard. He was a graduate of New London High School. On October 15, 1949, he was united in marriage to Bette Schlaitzer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fox Lake. Loran was a longtime local resident and was employed at National Rivet Manufacturing for forty-two years. Loran was a member of Pella Lutheran Church for over fifty years, and was a former trustee and member of the finance committee. For fifteen years Loran and Bette were the custodians at the church, and Loran did a lot of painting, staining and varnishing during that time. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and yard work. In 2009 Loran and Bette relocated to the Oshkosh area where they attended the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Loran is survived by Bette, his wife of sixty-one years; three sons, Mark Lienhard and his special friend Kris Mathison, of Waupun; Glen and his wife Iris Lienhard, of Oshkosh; and Steven Lienhard of Waupun; four grandchildren, Jason Lienhard, and his special friend Cara Stellmacher; Bryan and his wife Jeanna Lienhard; Ian Lienhard and his fiancé Darcy Steger; and Beth Lienhard and her special friend Bradley Elvers; three great-grandchildren, Shelby and Livia Lienhard, and Reylyn Elvers; two sisters, Violet (Jerry) Slot, Decatur, IL; Rosalind Meehan, Ripon, WI; a brother-in-law, Delbert Schlaitzer, Waupun; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Lienhard, New London, WI and Norma (Russell) Schultz, Horicon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Lienhard; three brothers, Harold (Adeline), Elmer (Ruth), and Raymond Lienhard; two sisters, Anita (Don) Loomans; and Ruth (Norman) Much; and a brother-in-law, William Meehan,
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 S. Madison Street, Waupun, with Rev. Roger Erdman from the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Oshkosh officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
Loran’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Loran’s name.
