Florence DeYoung, age 86 of Randolph, went to her heavenly home on Monday, December 12, 2011at the ChristianHomein Waupun.
A service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held at 11 a.m.on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the First Reformed Church of Randolph, 405 S. High St., with Pastor Ben Bruins officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
Florence’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, Dec. 15 at the church from 5 – 8 p.m.and on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Florence was born on December 31, 1924 in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Redeker) Elenius. She was united in marriage to Andrew M. DeYoung on October 14, 1949 in Alto.
Florencewas a devoted farm wife, working side by side with Andrew. Caring for her family was her priority, and she was a loving stay-at-home mother. When her children were grown, Florence worked at Continental Manor in Randolph for over twenty years. She was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Randolph, where she was involved in the Ladies Guild, the Fellowship Group, and Choir, and she taught Sunday School and Bible Class. Florence enjoyed working with the church ladies making quilts. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of great joy in her life.
Florenceis survived by two sons, Franklin (Ann) DeYoung, Waupun, and Harold (Darlyn) DeYoung, Randolph, and one daughter, Margaret (Steve) Miller, Beaver Dam. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, Scott (Gayle) DeYoung, Pat (Brian) Bresser, Steve (Pam) DeYoung, all of Waupun, Jamie (Mike) DeVries, Beaver Dam, Joe (Diane) DeYoung, Cambria, Jill (John) Baneck, Marshall, Amber (Lee) Redeker, Randolph, Michelle (Dustin) Morfey, Littleton, Colorado, Paula Miller, Beaver Dam, nineteen great-grandchildren, Jessica, Alysa, Derek & Makayla DeYoung, Evan & Hannah Bresser, Joshua, Tyler & Matthew DeYoung, Kristen, Samuel & Tyler DeVries, Andrew, Devon, Chloe & Issac DeYoung, Dylan, Benton & Judson Redeker, two sisters, Ottolena Redeker, Sunnyside, WA, and Marion Loomans, Waupun, and her brother, Paul (Audrey) Elenius, Waupun, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew, in 1996, her sister, Louise Vander Galien, seven brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
A memorial fund is being established for the Christian Home of Waupun.
Randolph Community Funeral Home is serving the family.
