Charlotte Ann Boomsma, age 73 of Randolph, died on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

Charlotte was born on June 23, 1937 in the Town of Buffalo near Montello, a daughter of William and Mae (Suftin) Zuhlke. She graduated from Randolph High School. On April 2, 1955 she was united in marriage to Harry Boomsma at the Courtland United Methodist Church. Besides caring for her family, Charlotte was locally employed for many years at Jungs Seed Company, and for twenty years at the Canning factory in Cambria. She loved being outside and enjoyed caring for her garden and flower beds. Other favorite activities were fishing and swimming with her children. Charlotte was a longtime member of Courtland United Methodist Church.

Charlotte is survived by Harry, her husband of fifty-six years; five children, Gary (Laurie) Boomsma, Rick Boomsma, both of Randolph, Randy (Judy) Boomsma, Fall River, Bonnie (friend Ray) Boomsma, Rio, and Kim Boomsma and her fiancé Jeff Schneider of Beaver Dam; fourteen grandchildren; Christopher and Elizabeth Boomsma, Jennifer, and Jacob Boomsma, Randy Jr., Justin and Mike Boomsma, Chelsea, Hallie, Taylor, and Caleb Lauersdorf, Emily Lehman, Chance and Logan Schneider, four great-grandchildren, Parker, Sydnee, Atreyu, and Tucker; a step-granddaughter, Holly Schultz; her sister, Doris Standish, Waunakee; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Randolph United Methodist Church, 227 N. High Street, with Rev. Jeff Meyer and Rev. Gerald Shibley officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.

Char’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

A memorial fund has been established for Courtland United Methodist Church.
