Thorwald Frank Heckl

Thorwald Frank Heckl, age 94 of Fox Lake and formerly of Shorewood, died on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam, where he resided the past few months.

Thorwald was born on October 14, 1916 in Milwaukee, the son of Edward and Ann Heckl. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School. Thorwald was united in marriage to Dorothy LeBeau in 1939 in Milwaukee. He was briefly employed with Milwaukee County Transport, and later with the Allen Bradley Company for many years. Thorwald was a Masonic Lodge Member of the George Washington Lodge #337 of Whitefish Bay. He enjoyed vacationing at the family property on Fox Lake, and moved there permanently in 1998. As a loyal Wisconsin sports fan, he faithfully watched the Packers, Badgers, Bucks and Brewers. Thorwald’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave him much pride and joy in his later years.

Thorwald is survived by his son, Kurt and his wife Barbara Heckl of Fox Lake, his granddaughter, Bonnie and her husband Keith Menke of Sheboygan Falls, his grandson, Todd and his wife Kristine Heckl of Hustisford; three great-grandchildren, Charlie Menke, Andrew and Allison Heckl; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 1987; his parents; four brothers, two sisters, his nephew, Laurie Dalli; sister-in-law, Ida Dalli, and brother-in-law, Alfred Dalli.

A Masonic Service by members of the George Washington Lodge #337 will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Pinelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 10700 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, WI. The funeral service and entombment will follow officiated by Pastor Sheila Rawn.

Thorwald’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday at Pinelawn from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
