Ann Boss

Ann Boss, age 84, passed into Glory on Friday, November 26, 2010, at her Waupun residence, surrounded by her family.

Ann was born on July 30, 1926 in Stickney, South Dakota, a daughter of Rev. Henry and Emma (Timmer) Fikse. Following her graduation from Hudsonville MI High School, Ann attended Hope College, graduating in 1947. On June 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Rev. Donald Boss in Chandler, MN. As a pastor’s wife, Ann was called to several communities prior to their retiring in Waupun. She was a school teacher in Hudsonville, Holland, MI; and Waupun where she ministered to unmarried pregnant girls. Ann was the Director of Adult Education while they were in DeMotte, Indiana. She served on the Board of Trustees for Western Theological Seminary, and locally on the Board of the Christian Home. Ann was a member of the First Reformed Church of Waupun, where she began Adventures In Mission, a quilting ministry outreach. She also lovingly crafted quilts for all her family members.

Ann is survived by Donald, her husband of sixty-one years; her son, Richard (Amy) Boss, Holland, MI, two daughters; Mary (Calvin) Siegel, Fall Creek, and Rhoda (Chistopher) Kerkes, De Motte, IN; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Cynthia (Michael) Romano, Surfside Beach, SC;
Two brothers, John (Beverly) Fikse, Central Lake, MI, and Evert (Ardith) Fikse, Grand Rapids, MI, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren; Ruth Ann Boss and Tim Boss.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at First Reformed Church, 422 W. Franklin Street, Waupun, with Rev. Evert Fikse, and Rev. Calvin Siegel officiating. A private committal service will be held for the family at Forest Mound Cemetery at a later date.

Ann’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
