Virginia Marion Vosekuil, age 85 of Waupun, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Prairie Ridge Memory Care in Waupun.
Virginia was born in Fond du Lac, WI on September 2, 1925, a daughter to George and Ella (Sommerfeld) Bastian. She attended Waupun schools and on August 19, 1944 she was united in marriage to Harry G. Vosekuil in Beaver Dam. As a young couple they lived in Ohio, where they co-owned and managed a gas station with relatives. Several years later, they relocated to Wisconsin where Virginia kept busy as a homemaker. She was formerly employed with the Ideal Shoe Company, Huth and James Shoe Factory, both of Waupun, and the Weyenberg Shoe Company in Beaver Dam. She briefly lived in the Brandon, Randolph, and Beaver Dam areas, but always thought of Waupun as home. Virginia was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waupun. She loved taking road trips, especially going to visit her family in Ohio. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and fishing.
Virginia is survived by five children; Harold (Sandy) Vosekuil, Susan Yuenger and fiancé Ron Schroedl, all of Beaver Dam; Ken (Susan) Vosekuil, of Nevada; Ron Vosekuil and his friend, Kathy Smith, of Arizona; and Ellen (Jeff) Frank, Beaver Dam; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 1990; a son, Donald Vosekuil; her brother, Clayton Bastian; and a son-in-law, William Yuenger.
A Service to Celebrate Virginia’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun, with Rev. Elizabeth Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.
