Elda Ehlert, age 92, has gone to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Waupun Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Elda was born December 27, 1917 on the Kolitz farm northwest of Cambria, WI to Albert and Ida (Schade) Kolitz. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church in Cambria. Elda attended Rosedale Country School thru eighth grade. She married George Ehlert on August 10, 1938 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun. He preceded Elda in death on September 29, 1982.

Elda was a long time resident of Waupun and member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Golden Agers. She was a housewife most of her life and worked briefly at the Waupun Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She loved watching wildlife and always had many house plants and garden flowers around her home.

Survivors include two sons; Kenneth Ehlert of Payson, AZ and Arthur and his wife Mary Ehlert of Waupun; Eight grandchildren, Scot Ehlert, Helena, WI; Larry (Jo Ann) Ehlert, Winneconne, WI, Tracy Ehlert, Edgerton, WI, Trisha Ehlert, Payson, AZ, Raymond (Brenda) Ehlert, Cheryl (Scott) Stobb, both of Waupun, Sue (Kendall) Kastein, Alto, and Rita (Brian) Holbach, Waupun; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Myrtle Bronkhorst; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Herman and Walter Kolitz; two sisters, Alma Bornmann and Edna Uebel.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 525 W. Main Street, Waupun with the Rev. Elizabeth Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.

Elda’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
