Eleanor Gail Gibson, age 53 of Burnett, was called home on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Eleanor was born on May 31, 1957 in Waupun, the daughter of Raymond and Cornelia (Vander Woude) Van Loo. She graduated from Horicon High School with the Class of 1975. Eleanor worked as a housekeeper for several nursing homes over the years; including Beaver Dam Care Center, Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation, and most recently the Christian Home in Waupun. On February 16, 1980, she was married to Edwin Kirchoff, and they made their home in Beaver Dam where they raised their three daughters. Eleanor was employed for nine years at Myers Company in Horicon, but her passion was working in the nursing homes, where she enjoyed interaction with the residents. Eleanor was united in marriage to Jerry Gibson on September 24, 2005 in Burnett. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and gardening. Her hobbies were crafting and fixing puzzles. Eleanor delighted in spending time with her grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Jerry Gibson, Burnett; her three daughters, Jackie Kirchoff, Beaver Dam, Jennifer (Bradley) Schmidt, Columbus, and Conniesue (Adam) Holtan, Burnett; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Mackenzie Wilson, Joseph, Zachariah, and Adrianna Holtan; her parents, Raymond and Cornelia Van Loo, Waupun; two brothers, Robert (Rhonda) Van Loo, Watertown, and Mark (Ann) Van Loo, Beaver Dam; two sisters, Ruth (Thomas) Amberson, Beaver Dam, and Cynthia (Douglas) Helmrick, Plover; her ex-husband, Edwin Kirchoff, Theresa; her mother-in-law, Katherine Kirchoff, Fox Lake; two step-children, Alice (Rick) Ford, Mount Calvary, Chad Larson, Texas; and step-grandchildren, Alan, Joey, and Seth Ford; nieces, nephews, brothers-and sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Marvin Kirchoff; and two brothers-in-law, Gary and Jerry Kirchoff.

Funeral Services will be 12:30 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun. Chaplain Wick Hubers will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Eleanor’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

The family wishes to thank the Beaver Dam Hillside Homecare/Hospice for their wonderful loving care of Eleanor throughout her brief illness.
