Virginia Olive (Vande Zande) Krohn, 91, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Christian Home in Waupun.
Virginia was born August 14, 1918 in the town of Trenton, Dodge County, daughter of Ben and Lovice Vida (McFate) Vande Zande.
Virginia was united in marriage to Milton H. Krohn on August 28, 1941 in the parsonage of First Reformed Church of Waupun. They operated the family dairy farm, rural Brandon, until they moved to the city of Waupun in 2005. She was a long time member of Bethel Reformed Church of Brandon. Virginia was an active member of the Women’s Guild, Bible studies, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She loved music and sang at numerous weddings and funerals. It was through her singing that she met her husband. She had been a 4-H leader. She enjoyed visiting with people and also loved playing cards with family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her five children, Virginia/Gini (Lee) Ellens and Keith (Sharon) Krohn, Brandon, Marlyn (Micki) Krohn, Waupun, Susan Krohn and Rosanne (Craig) Bresser, Brandon; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, on July 23, 2009, her parents, two brothers, Benjamin and Donald W. and her son-in-law, Norman Brown.
Services will be Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Bethel Reformed Church. 305 West Street, Brandon with Chaplain Wick Hubers officiating. Private family burial will take place on Monday morning at the Cattaraugus Cemetery.
Virginia’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
